@Lantong "For all of these reasons, the Court should find the UT admission program to be unconstitutional. The Court should also revisit and overrule its holding in Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306 (2003), to make clear that outside of narrowly tailored programs that provide remedies to specific and proven victims of race-based discrimination, race should not be used in college admissions or any other setting."
@赵宇空 赵先生,i have all the respect for you to come forward and takes this huge responsibility on your shoulder. But AA existed with a historically significant reason, and us chinese benefited from it. I would hope you are a man of principle and not just fighting for interest. Do you really believe it's appropriate for Chinese to lead the fight to end AA?What does it do to chinese image as a whole? And I am sure you understand law can only regulate action,it does not regulate people's heart.
@Henry Yang 诶,我老不得不从本打算的沉默中跳出来,你这说法也太容易被人驳倒或者抓小辫子了。。。 兰彤问,“with all due respect, why should chinese end AA?I am very troubled by this notion. ” Henry答,“@Lantong because we are discriminated, period.”
@Lantong this is the principle I cherish, from my speech delivered in our news conference in May "The complaint we filed this morning is not only about the civil rights of Asian Americans, but also about the future of America. Most Asian American immigrated to America because it offers equal opportunities to all, regardless their racial backgrounds. America should not depart from this indispensable principle that attracts talents from all over the world to build America into the greatest nation on earth. This complaint is not about a zero sum game but about equal opportunities for all races. "
@Lantong I see Asian Americans suffer from racial stereotypes and discrimination the most. If companies and colleges adopt merit based, race-blind policies, Asian Americans will be much better off. We do not need favorable treatment, but fair treatment.
