你如果真的比较中美的差异，有几点是值得深入思考的。第一，美国是一个真正国家吗?yes, it has land, ppl, constitution etc. But it doesn't have a national identity, a common history, a common set of values and ideals most of the nation ascribe to.
Reality check is always important. Even with very heated arguments here, I don't see anyone on this group saying, go hell with America, I'm going back to China, even though it's easy to do. In other words, even America with hated AA is better than Chinese 高考。
@菁菁 most of us on this very group had no connection to America when we grew up. We made it here. It's not that hard for a Chinese American kids to make it in China if they want to, or choose to.
I personally know people who are laid off here, found a job in China, but they leave kids and wife here. They spent large sum on air-tickets because they value American education over Chinese education. I also know people who want better family life, who brought kids to China at a young age. But instead of joining the Chinese education system, they paid large sum for international school with the goal of coming back to states for college. They want nothing to do with 高考。
