Reason for Seeking Public Office:

Now, Senator Graham is running for president to restore American security at home and abroad. With a lifetime of service to the nation, he has the knowledge and experience to be Commander-in-Chief on Day One.

With challenges so great and problems so big, America deserves a leader who doesn't need on-the-job training.

About Lindsey Graham

The centrist former four-term member of the House represents one of the most conservative states in the country, but he has repeatedly been accused of being a moderate, a RINO even. This of course belies the fact that during his time in Congress, Senator Graham actually has a 90% voting record in favor of the conservative agenda.

Perhaps his 2010 remark that the Tea Party is “unsustainable” and will “die out” has much to do with it; or, if we look further back in time, there is his condemnation of the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse, his support of green energy, or even, his criticisms of former president George W. Bush’s Social Security reforms proposal.

However, the de-facto co-leader of GOP’s Congressional foreign policy team makes no apologies for his bipartisan approach in Congress, explaining that the party has shifted too far to the right, and argues that even “Ronald Reagan would have a hard time getting elected as a Republican today.”

As expected though, his stances have earned him the wrath of many within the party. In fact, in his home state, the Charleston County Republican Party went as far as issuing an official rebuke for Senator Graham.

But as Senator Graham pointedly reminded everyone before his 2007 reelection victory, “I'm going to get reelected if I'm doing smart things for people in the country and the party, and I care about the party, not just me....The worst thing that'll happen to me is I'll go home and practice law.”

2. Stricter punishment reduces crime	Strongly Support "Three Strikes" Laws and death penalty are necessary. The stricter punishment we use, the less crimes it occurs.
3. Marijuana is a gateway drug	Strongly Support We should absolutely say no to drugs! Drug use is immoral and drugs poison our youth and society, and drug users should therefore be punished.
4. Higher taxes on the wealthy	Strongly Oppose The income tax and the IRS should be both abolished. Lower and flatter taxes are the good first step.
5. Stimulus better than market-led recovery	Oppose Cutting taxes and reducing regulation is the means to recuperate from the Great Recession.
6. Vouchers for school choice	Strongly Support Government's role in schooling should be limited. State-funded vouchers should pay for private schools, charter schools, home-schooling, or whatever schools parents choose.

8. Prioritize green energy	Strongly Oppose There's no global warming - it's just natural climatic variation. And if there is a problem, we won't be affacted much.
9. Avoid foreign entanglements	Strongly Oppose U.S. should keep military action against Iran, North Korea and others who oppose American national interests.
10. Expand the military	Strongly Support U.S. needs to keep expanding the military. Increase defense spending is also to meet global responsibilities.
11. Support & expand free trade	Oppose Trade should be Fair, not Free. Free trade poses a risk to job security, causes humanitarian problems overseas, or results in environmental damage.
12. Support American Exceptionalism	Strongly Support America's national interests should always be our priority. US should withdraw the United Nations, and restrict their actions.
13. Absolute right to gun ownership	Strongly Support It is a basic Constitutional right and expresses the principle of self-defense against violence.
