@三国 我们现在谈华人应该问政议政参政,抽象大于具体。有的时候我们忙于争论谁对谁错,忘了大多数人的问题仍然是why should we care. 尤其是华一代,虽然内心里政治(公共事务)意识很强,但看的多,没觉得这和自己直接关系很大,或者自己所做能make a difference. 我们需要从一些具体事例,why we should care, why we should go voting. SCA5,哈佛申诉的例子就很好,但有些复杂,要慢慢讲。其实例子很多,我先举个我分享到moment的例子,加个评论。 希望,以后我们一起来编辑一个list of cases, 有简单的有复杂的,有左翼观点的,有右翼观点的。It is a long process towards the right direction, for us and for our future generations. 改变华人的集体文化,追求欠缺的集体红利。
@三国 职场上升到一定层次,人的因素高于技术因素。好莱坞电影,黑人主角正面的很多了,再加上总统和政府机构黑人很多。所以,潜意识里,大多人觉得黑人的领导力高于亚裔,which is questionable, at least not to my experience. 所以职场的stereotype来自于职场之外。你可能是说职场AA,那是另一个问题。
@三国 漏读了你最后的两句话,是的,华人的职场文化需要改进。我认为和@Yanfen Li 的下段话有共同的原因,我们从小到大父母和老师呵斥我们的太多太凶,无形中制造了我们的价值观。我们疲于奔命于做事情要让父母老师同学朋友觉得我们对,所以我们举手回答问题是要说我是对的,而不是自然参与。在单位也是做不会被责备“you are wrong”的事情,而且很defensive,从别人的角度考虑的少。目的错了,什么都不自然。希望华人教育上少呵斥孩子,不当着孩子面吵架,不把当年父母的负面性格再传下去。在单位,会把团队的结果和自己的目的平衡(此处先省去1千字吧),所以我们在家里,职场,政治参与等的上升都和新文化有关,是同一个根源。 Yanfen:“I am very agree with Ms. Wen. U can see so much different from American kids than Chinese kids in the classes. Most of the American kids would not wait for the teacher finishing questions. Raising their hands to answer the questions. But Chinese kids are different, they mould wait for the teacher to ask their name or they have to make sure the answer is right before they raise their hand. That's the big cultural different. I may not saying the absolutely true. But just a example. That's why some how most of the American people showing they have more confidence than other cultural of people. Even sometimes they know more less. That's just my opinion.”
